Belated spring picture

"Come on! you have to hurry! If the humans return and find us in their garden..."
"Ah, you're such a worrywart! It's no fun to go and collect pollen with you! I mean, just look at the flowers! Their so pretty this time of the year, with their purple petals and the flower buds..."
"Hey guys! I found the human rubb-AAAAAAAAH!" *thud-boink-OOW!*
*little girl just staring at the flower in amazement, wondering how a plant makes beautiful yellow dust such as this, while being happy that her mother finally found her old enough to tag along for the dangerous trip through the human gardens*

Aaah! Spring comes so quickly, and then leaves so soon! I started drawing/sketching this picture about three weeks ago, when it was still a bit chilly and the first of the flowers were just coming out, and now all the blossoms are gone and everything is green already! So please excuse my belated spring picture; it's not entirely my fault that it's no longer really fitting.
Anyway, these purple flowers grow in my garden and I love them very much! This is the first year (after we planted them three years ago) that they truly bloom, and I find the flowers to look just like elfin dresses. So, while drawing the flowers, the little elves/pixies/fairys just appeared on my paper. I couldn't help it. I've also recently (also three weeks ago) rediscovered watercolour-pencils and I've been practicing with them ever since. Which is why this is a watercolour-pencil drawing. I think it turned out pretty well, considering this is only my fourth (actually finished) watercolour-pencil drawing ever. And the light and subtle colours fit the fairys Please do excuse the uhm... rather crumbled state of the paper, that's what you get for not thinking ahead at all and drawing your drawing on absolutely not watercolour paper...
